Unimog U500NA
Chris Cole and Ann Pennce came to us to build them a camper for a Unimog 500 with a custom built and designed -by Chris himself- flatbed. This flatbed camper is 10′, 8′ wide and has 6′ of hard side walls with an additional 23″ in soft sides in the pop up. It is such a cool and original pop up camper that it has been a sensation at the 2014 Overland Expo, and it has also been featured in the Truck Camper Magazine.
In Chris’ own words: “Robby Rowe of Phoenix Campers designed and built the camper, but he had to work around my design and build for the truck bed. That means the fresh, grey, and black tanks had to be aligned. That was not an easy task. The flexibility of design and the ability to make my extensive custom requirements happen is why I went with Phoenix Custom Campers. I had spent a great deal of time researching to find a camper builder with the expertise to build this custom camper.”
The Bronco Bronco
The Bronco Bronco is none other than a Ford Bronco with a 100% customized pop up camper built in! It has been nicknamed “The Ultimate Tail Gaiting Vehicle” and it is a tribute to the Denver Broncos football team from two devoted fans: Cari and Robby Rowe, the owners of Phoenix Pop Up Campers.
Robby explains how this idea came to life: “The second reason we built the Bronco Bronco was to have a demo camper to show to customers. Every time we build a camper for a customer, it disappears as soon as it’s ready. So, we built something really cool that stays here with us. The Bronco Bronco shows our potential customers what we can do, and it includes our latest features. Once we had the basic idea, it started to snowball”.
